Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 09 – Day in Olympia

Our last day in Yellowstone!

One of the perks of the scenic driving routes in Yellowstone is a captured audience in the car and the amazing conversations that took place. I wasn’t able to capture them all… I totally missed Grandma explaining to Sebastien that her grandmother had bound feet… or how her grandma used to kill chickens for dinner (though I did catch the end of it)… but hopefully these few video moments help to remind the kids of their wonderful and amazing Grandma when they want to look back and remember her fondly. XOXO

Back to Yellowstone today and on the agenda is the North Rim Drive and South Rim Drive of the Grand Canyon.

And we are always keeping our eyes peeled for wildlife.

What a truly spectacular and beautiful day with SO many things to see. I just couldn’t pick between what photos to include and not to include so enjoy! Our agenda included: Firehole Falls, Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin, Fairy Falls Trailhead to see the Grand Prismatic from above, Grand Prismatic and the Midway Geyser Basin, and the Lower Geyser Basin. So geysers, geysers, and more geysers galore!

Because the flight layover patterns from Vancouver to Bozeman were terrible, we decided to take the coastal scenic train from Vancouver to Seattle and catch a direct flight from Seattle to Bozeman.

After settling into Seattle for lunch and some pool time (and nap time for Grandma and Grandma), we took a scenic stroll to the Seattle Waterfront for dinner and the sunset.

And we couldn’t miss the famous Seattle gum wall… yes, you heard me, GUM WALL!!!

After visiting Stanley Park, we headed to the coast for lunch and our whale watching tour.
