Christmas 2017

Christmas 2017

And just like that, it’s Christmas – where did the year go?

It was probably the first Christmas where the kids understood to open presents. Here are a few short videos from the day’s events:

We converted some of our memories into Christmas ornaments:

They had a blast. Sebastien had plenty of new cars and trucks to play with.

A couple of months back, we saw a beautiful doll house being sold secondhand on Craigslist for next to nothing and so we bought it, even though the kids were probably too young for “make believe” and “house playing”. The doll house was bigger than we expected but in such great condition that we figured eventually the kids would play with it.

And what’s a Christmas celebration without New Year’s party favors?

Wishing all of our friends and family a healthy and happy new year!

December

December

We are counting down the days to Christmas… and the kids are already in the holiday spirit, especially after having put up the Christmas tree.

Sebastien is in that weird size in between a baby and a toddler so these crew socks I got him are slightly too big for him, but he needed long socks for when we go outside. He’s such a troublemaker, you can already tell his crazy funny personality.

Chloe continues to be my big helper – she will turn four in February but check out her skills! Pants next! The goal is for her to fold it all by herself by the time she is five – what do you think?

The kids have been pestering us to put up the Christmas tree so we did with their help.

Grandma and Grandpa also put up their tree with the kids help (as you can see all the balls are on the bottom HA HA).

Some random pictures of the kids…

While the kids were napping, I went out shopping with Aunt Loretta to find the kids new kiddie chopsticks. Here’s their first attempt with their new utensils…

The kids were so excited for the boat ride to dinner!

Much love to our family in Hong Kong. Thank you for hosting us, we had a wonderful time. See you again!

The kids act so differently when they are on their own. Chloe took forever to nap and so finally when she fell asleep, Sebastien woke shortly thereafter. We took him outside the bedroom to occupy him and let Chloe sleep and got some great videos by himself. Enjoy!

Enjoying Hong Kong

Yay for playgrounds in the neighborhood to occupy the kids. The giant hill we had to walk up in order to get there… not so much fun… but well worth it!

And lots of love for Great Aunt Loretta. Here’s another throwback.

Every morning we went to Great Aunt Loretta’s place (for the great nearby congee for breakfast) and the kids loved looking out over her high windows… and messing around on her bed!

And more pictures of friends of the family.

Great Grandma

Great Grandma

Sebastien and Chloe were happy to see their great grandma. Lots of love and lots of pictures to go around.

Here’s a throwback to 2 years ago – look at what a big lump Sebastien used to be. A big ol’ baby.

And since we’re talking about throwbacks, check this one out from… well… 1985?

And now… with mom and grandma. Love you guys.

And here we have the four generations, with the eldest from each generation, all women. Love it. I’m definitely going to remember this moment for a long time. So happy we had the opportunity to share this with the family.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong

Very exciting, off to Hong Kong we go. The kids were excited to sit on a bus and a train and a plane… you name it, they wanted to ride it. I was so worried about our early morning flight (1am) but it all worked out so well. The kids took a late nap and they were fully awake once we got to the airport (10:30pm) and after we boarded.

[wpvp_flowplayer src= https://chezmuirichard.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/20171112_leaving_for_hong_kong.mp4 width=540 height=360 splash=https://chezmuirichard.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-video-posts/images/default_image.jpg]

We got lucky on the flight out. We were a party of 7 and had on a 3-3-3 seated plane, we had taken all aisle seats. Two of our middle seats were empty and so both kids were able to fully lie down. The kids were so well behaved, quite honestly they were angels. For a 16-hour flight, neither of them cried or whined or fussed. They were amazing and I’m so proud of them.

Why Chloe didn’t want to eat any part of her kids meal except for the bread and butter… oh wait, she’s French, LOL.

Don’t they look so sweet when they are sleeping? And when they weren’t sleeping, they were LOVING the kids section of the TV. Look at them with their kiddie headphones. They NEVER get to watch that much TV around mommy and daddy…

After checking in to our apartment and showering, everyone passed out. Here’s a throwback to two years ago when the same thing happened… the kids don’t all fit in the one bed anymore… they’re a little bit bigger now…
