Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 05 – Yellowstone Part 2: Grand Canyon

Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 05 – Yellowstone Part 2: Grand Canyon

Back to Yellowstone today and on the agenda is the North Rim Drive and South Rim Drive of the Grand Canyon.

We start with our first waterfall of the day, Gibbons Fall. We even saw someone enjoying the waterfall from down below (he is strategically hidden behind the top of a treetop branch here lol).
I have no idea where she gets her sass from. Zero.

And we are always keeping our eyes peeled for wildlife.

The Yellowstone River cut through the lava and ash that flowed into the Yellowstone Caldera about 500,000 years ago. Hot areas and steam vents still exist in the canyon today releasing heat, gases and hot water from the underground Yellowstone Volcano.
Lower Falls, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park
Look at this local artist capturing the view! He said he started about 2-3 hours ago. Brilliant!
A closer view of the Lower Falls from Lookout Point
The kids decided they wanted to join me on the hike down to Red Rock Point and get an even closer look at the Lower Falls. Switchbacks down the mountain side without any guardrails made this very interesting!
Sebastien saw this guardrail and grabbed on for dear life after a harrowing descent!
The long way up… yes we started at the top of that very mountain in the background! Bravo kids for trekking through it with me! XOXO
Last stop on the North Rim at Inspiration Point
Look at the SIZE of this bird. Raven? Crow? Whatever it is, this bird was HUGE.
After a lunch break, we began our tour of the South Rim starting with the Upper Falls of the Grand Canyon.
Chloe, do you remember after we took this picture your hat flew away in a wind gust and I had to climb over the rocks down the slope to get it? Uh huh…
This loud, gurgling, misting spring on the side of the road that we just had to see for ourselves. I am surprised they didn’t call her Big Bertha.
Another brilliant day in Yellowstone!
Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 04 – Yellowstone Part 1: Geysers

Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 04 – Yellowstone Part 1: Geysers

What a truly spectacular and beautiful day with SO many things to see. I just couldn’t pick between what photos to include and not to include so enjoy! Our agenda included: Firehole Falls, Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin, Fairy Falls Trailhead to see the Grand Prismatic from above, Grand Prismatic and the Midway Geyser Basin, and the Lower Geyser Basin. So geysers, geysers, and more geysers galore!

First photo of the day was this stunning landscape with the morning sun. And I turn around and what are my kids doing?
Selfie of brother and sister. Because Chloe officially got her first phone (for middle school) but we allowed her to bring it to Yellowstone to take photos. I hope these two remain this close for life.
I guess Chloe doesn’t like the smell of eggs in her waterfall, haha! All those natural minerals!!
All the flower photos were taken by Sebastien and the lady bug was taken by Chloe. Future photographers!!
Look at those silent little bubbles just breaking the surface…
The beginning of the Fairy Falls Trail to view the Grand Prismatic from above… bravo to my parents who persevered and made it all the way to the top for the amazing view!
A much needed, earned and deserved ice cream break for the whole gang after that hike!
Can you see the platform clearing up there in the trees where we hiked to get the view from above?
Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 03 – Day in Seattle

Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 03 – Day in Seattle

Because the flight layover patterns from Vancouver to Bozeman were terrible, we decided to take the coastal scenic train from Vancouver to Seattle and catch a direct flight from Seattle to Bozeman.

After settling into Seattle for lunch and some pool time (and nap time for Grandma and Grandma), we took a scenic stroll to the Seattle Waterfront for dinner and the sunset.

And we couldn’t miss the famous Seattle gum wall… yes, you heard me, GUM WALL!!!

Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 01 – Vancouver Whale Watching Tour

Summer Vacay 2025 – Day 01 – Vancouver Whale Watching Tour

After visiting Stanley Park, we headed to the coast for lunch and our whale watching tour.

Look at this whale posing its tail spectacularly for us against the mountain backdrop!
Sebastien pretended he was a whale surfacing and then GUESS WHAT HAPPENED?!?
What an AMAZING first day! More to come!
Kids New Rooms

Kids New Rooms

Chloe asked to have her own room set up in advance of starting middle school and so we told the kids if they wanted to have their own rooms, they have to help with the clean up, prep and setup. They definitely were a big help!

Lavendar for the young lady
Who paints in their panties? My daughter…
Moonlight blue for the young man.
Chloe asked for a new carpet to match her rooms new colors and I told her it needed to be cleaned…
So we made it a sprinkler day LOL
Sebastien and Daddy are so handy putting up all of Chloe’s shelves
Happy July 4th

Happy July 4th

Despite the most historically unorganized July 4th in the neighborhood thanks to local politics of our mayor, we were undeterred in our efforts to enjoy our holiday.
