First Time Grandparents

First Time Grandparents

I always knew my parents would love being grandparents, you could tell they really wanted one whenever they were around other people’s babies and cooing over them. Now they have one of their own and they are the CUTEST grandparents ever.  Big smiles and baby noises and all the songs and rhymes I remember from when my sister and I were little. Gotta love Grandma and Grandpa!

Happy Spring

Happy Spring

Wishing the weather would be spring-like but no, it’s 29 degrees and so the Mui-Richard clan is stuck in the house again.  So Mommy decided to dress Baby Chloe like it was spring (of course after she spits up on her existing outfit, which is of course after I have already done laundry today) and out come the fun leggings from Uncle Peter!  And here comes Daddy for a quick selfie with baby!

Checking in at the Ritz Battery Park

Checking in at the Ritz Battery Park

Baby Chloe finally got to meet her extended family at the Ritz on Friday and she was the center of attention (naturally). She was super good and let everyone hold her without fussing although she was happy to spit up in Mommy’s arms, as usual. Next time we come back to the Ritz, we’ll have to borrow the mixing bowl upstairs in pastry for a new photo op since she’s too big to fit in our mixing bowl now!

One Month Old

One Month Old

Baby Chloe is officially one month old! Peds check up today went very well.  She’s gained more than one ounce per day since her last visit so everything looks good, says the doctor. Little Chloe did so well, she didn’t even cry when we stripped her to measure her; can’t say the same for her next visit where she’ll have to get three shots. Our little girl is getting so BIG so QUICK!

Sleepy baby

Sleepy baby

They say Day 2 is when newborns are the sleepiest… I dunno… I’ve got one SLEEPY baby on my hands… so we spent the day taking various snapshots of her funny sleeping faces, particularly the many different positions her hands are in, LOL!

Three Weeks Old

Baby Chloe is now three weeks old and a little more than seven pounds.  Three weeks of pooping, eating, and sleeping… ahhh the good life… she doesn’t know how awesome she has it!  I will admit, I am looking forward to a few months from now when she’ll interact and respond to us – laughing, cooing or other responsive noises – something to show some comprehension.  She does seem to recognize faces and voices now, but just ever so slightly… Everyone says the time will fly so I guess I have to enjoy what I can of her now.

Visit from Cousin Angie from Florida!

Visit from Cousin Angie from Florida!

So excited to see Cousin Angie on Sunday! And thanks to Angie, we’ve now got a new nickname for Chloe. In her green swaddle and cap, and based on the way she wiggles around all the time, she looks just like a Glow Worm. So we’re calling her Chlo(e)-worm, but she is WAY cuter! I think we’ve figured out what Chloe is going to be for Halloween!

Sunday with Grandma and Grandpa

Sunday with Grandma and Grandpa

Chloe spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa.  Or rather, I should say that Grandpa spent the afternoon torturing poor baby Chloe, keeping her awake and “exercising and strengthening her lung capacity” by making her cry.  =0)  But she did sleep REALLY well last night because she was up most of the afternoon!
