Cruise tour of Southern Wilson Prom

Cruise tour of Southern Wilson Prom

What an amazing opportunity to see the coastline as well as all the animals among the islands. Totally recommend, especially in the afternoon sun. What an awesome way to end our time at the Prom!
Have you ever seen a boat with wheels?!?! Now you have!
And when the skipper said front seats are the rockiest and for adventurers, where do you think our kids sat? Yup. Front row. Flying and crashing over the waves like a rollercoaster. And they loved every minute of it!
Oberon Bay
Cascade waterfall
South Point (Tasmania waters ahead)
Seals playing
Two seals on their own sunning it up
And this was close enough for me… the SMELL!!!
Skull rock
Look at the colors and how smooth the rock is…
Saw some giant tuna jumping in the waters – did you see the two I caught on video? I slowed it down… don’t blink!
Sunrise at the Cottage

Sunrise at the Cottage

Woke up to this absolutely stunning view and I had to go wake the children so they could see it for themselves. I have no words for the sheer beauty.

I think I’ll remember this picture for a long time:

En route to Wilson Prom

En route to Wilson Prom

Chloe manning the luggage. So much luggage.

We took a leisurely scenic drive along the coast to Wilson Prom and stopped at various lookouts along the way.

After three days of Italian and American food (i.e. pasta, pizza, burgers, fish and chips), the kids were literally begging for Asian food. So we drove 20 minutes in the opposite direction to appease them (knowing the next 2 days was going to be limited at the Prom). The Chinese restaurant we found was closed but we stumbled upon a very popular Japanese spot that was delicious!

View from the kids room in our lovely cottage (yes that’s our hanging laundry). Will take better pictures tomorrow haha.
Thank you to Auntie Jocelyn for her super fun LED rocket copters which were a hit on the huge grassy lawn!
Exploring Forrest Caves

Exploring Forrest Caves

Our first warm and sunny day and what a day for the sun! Check out these colors today!

Amazing to think these caves are underwater during high tide and have been carved by the tides.

Kids checking out the little crab that ventured out from the rocks
A well deserved popsicle break after that long walk!
Churchill Island Heritage Farm

Churchill Island Heritage Farm

We went for a visit to the historical farm on the island but it seems I found a couple of animals myself!

After getting their faces painted, the kids wandered the farm and got to see lots of animals.

Chloe is fearless; she walks right up to the horse and starts petting it.

Lots of games and activities for the kids in between meeting the animals.

Then the kids got to milk a cow and see how sheep are sheared.

Penguin Parade

Penguin Parade

At sunset, we watched the little penguins return by the hundreds from the open sea to the beaches to their burrows for the evening. These tiny little penguins whose white bellies contrasted against the dark ocean water as they emerged on the sandy beach. They were adorable and what an amazing event to see in person!

There were kangaroos everywhere around the beaches and boardwalks.

We weren’t allowed to photograph the penguins after sunset but we did take these with some statue penguins for the memories.
