Visiting the Intrepid

Visiting the Intrepid

Our trip to the West Side during Fleet Week got the kids interested in the Intrepid Museum so we came back to visit it officially with the kids.

Of course we had to go see the spaceship (although I think they were less wow-ed after having visited Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral).

By far the coolest part I think was learning about life aboard a submarine and getting to go inside a real submarine!

Nearly peed in my pants taking this video, so glad I had the camera rolling… Chloe cracks me up!

Fleet Week

We were inspired by the wonderful weather and decided to ride our bicycles across the Brooklyn Bridge and catch the ferry up to Midtown West and check out the boats docked up for Fleet Week. We visited the High Line and Little Island on our way home. Total 10 miles on the bicycles for these kids! BRAVO!!

Thank you to all the friends and family that joined us at the recital today (sorry next time I must take more pictures of everyone!!). XOXO

Last day in Melbourne

Last day in Melbourne

Time to satisfy the kids cravings for Asian dumplings!

Scallion pancakes were unfortunate lol
And xiao long bao which I realized I didn’t take a solo picture of!
Kids pretending to be terracotta soldiers

And back at the hotel before we shower and board our flight back home to NYC. See you soon!

Puffing Billy Railway

Puffing Billy Railway

We started heading back to Melbourne and made a detour to hit some playgrounds, pick up a pizza and board Puffing Billy.

Puffing Billy is an hour outside Melbourne but I had never heard of a train where you can sit on the side ledges with your legs dangling out!

There was a miniature railway display at Lakeside. Nothing miniature about the display though – it was huge!

We had dinner at St Kilda’s Beach and watched the sunset on our last night in Australia. What a trip!

Tassie (Tasmanian) oysters!
