Chloe Broken Wrist
We got a call from the school nurse around lunchtime to pick up Chloe who had fallen during recess from the monkey bars…
As if we didn’t already know just by looking at the angle of Chloe’s wrist when she came home, the xrays confirmed how much of the bone she had broken. Broke nearly all the way through both her radius and ulnar. At one point, the doctor thought she needed surgery as they were worried it was broken all the way through and resetting it wouldn’t support the weight of her whole hand. Thank goodness they ultimately decided to reset and cast her wrist as there was the tiniest sliver of bone left attached.
Chloe was such a trooper. She didn’t complain of pain or discomfort and she went along with very little objection. The IV of course was a shock to her and she did request to be sung Phantom of the Opera (which I obliged and apologized to the attending nurse for my off key voice). I’m so proud of you Chloe, you are so strong and fearless and brave. That’s my girl.
We went to Michael’s and got paint pens so Chloe could have her friends and family decorate her cast.
