Bowling

Bowling

And of course we couldn’t forget to introduce the kids to BOWLING! We visited the bowling lanes that I used to visit regularly when I bowled in high school. Same establishment but looks like they’ve updated the technology – the bumpers automatically go up and down for each player which is so cool! I hope the kids enjoyed and we go back regularly.

Mini Golf

Mini Golf

So many firsts this month… we took the kids to an outdoor mini golf place in Williamsburg right on the water. It was a bit sunny but overall they had a great time! Sebastien has already asked to play “regular size golf”!!

It even made Sebastien’s Weekend News in school on Monday!

Chloe’s Missing Teeth

Chloe’s Missing Teeth

I’ve officially lose count of when and where Chloe lost her teeth … I feel like she lost three within the span of two or three weeks.

All six of the front baby teeth are gone that she’s expected to lose by the time she’s seven/eight years old… Look at those gaps! It’s SOOOO CUTE (except when she pushes her tongue through the gaps)!

Meanwhile Sebastien has yet to lose a single tooth just yet and he keeps asking when it will be his turn … so we let him participate in the tooth wiggling sessions … I hope these kids remember how much fun it was to wiggle and pull their teeth out and that they do it for their own kids!

Roller Skating

Roller Skating

Next on the list of things to do was roller skating. There is a roller rink on Pier 4 of Brooklyn Bridge Park and it’s free admission at 10am on Sundays (you just pay for skate rentals). The kids were troopers – it was super slippery on the surface and they never gave up!

Remembering September 11, 2001

Remembering September 11, 2001

We generally don’t take the kids out after the sun has set … perhaps being cooped up for so long with COVID has made us a big more willing to go outdoors … we decided to head out to show the kids the memorial lights over World Trade Center this year and explained to them what happened to the Twin Towers. It was a beautiful, clear night and we will always remember.

Rock Climbing

Rock Climbing

Daddy took the kids rock climbing underneath the Manhattan Bridge for the first time. They are such naturals and they loved it!

Hiking Turkey Mountain

Hiking Turkey Mountain

Hiking solo with the kids – what an adventure! And this was certainly a steeper hike than the one we did on Bear Mountain. Total mileage around 3 miles – this was a tough one for them and they did so well! So proud of you!! XO

A little drama along the way where we lost Chloe’s stowaway stuffed animal… but as the children told EVERY SINGLE PERSON that passed that we had lost Slimey, a wonderful samaritan found him and left him for us at the entrance of the hike.
Quick pit stop at Croton Dam – will have to hike this next time and bring Daddy
